I am replacing a Maxtor 6E030L0 that Maxtors diagnostics tells me that it is
failing.
I will replace it with a Seagate Barracuda ST389911A.
My computer is a Dell Dimension 2350 running XP Home.

I did a Windows Update (ie. WU) on a PC today and it hosed the audio.
Actually, I tried this back in December of 2005, it hosed the audio, and I
just did a “Rollback” on the “C-Media AC97” driver. Today I decided to see if
I could get to the bottom of this.

I have a WD 80 Gig ATA HD, that is recognized by BIOS, but when windows
loads up it will stop at "Loading Windows XP" screen. When I remove the
drive booting process is normal.

I installed an older game, Sonic R, on my system. Ever since I had that game
the autorun with all my CD's and DVD's has stopped working. The DVD drive
works fine except for the whole not running autorun thing.

I just got a new notebook with an 80 Gig HD.  It's all one partition.
I like to keep my OS and documents separate.  Is there a way I can
partition the drive now?  The OS & apps were pre-installed.

in my devices, i have two cd/dvd roms, one is the rom the other is a phillips
dvd=rw dvd8631. when i check the properties of the latter it says device is
working properly, the problem is, the drive wont even so much as open, i
tried to update drivers, it says there are no updates ...

In the last several days, my HP Pavilion 061 computer, running an Inte
Celeron 3.06GHz processor has been running with the CPU pegged out a
100%. I've tried doing a safe boot and systematically turning of
processes to see what operation is consuming all of the processo
