What is best? Using the manufactures (Western Digital) or the Windows reinstall CD to partition and format the new drive.

I moved my backup unit (Maxtor 300GB) from 1 PC to another PC which has a Bluetooth Kbd/mouse. Having installed Retrospect V6, as soon as it starts to run I get the following error message -

This bluescreen error has been repeating itself once or twice daily for weeks on an updated xp system. The cpu begins to overwork. Then when it is up to 100% and things are barely working, the bluescreen appears.

I've got a like new TDK880N DVD drive hooked to a new system I'm building. It seems no matter what app I use the drive will not play DVD movies. It just hangs up. With media player it will show about 3 seconds of play (black screen) and then the whole system usually hangs.

I replaced an Nvida FX5200 video card with a Radeon 9800 128mb. The old card did not have a fan. The new card does. Will the increase in power consumption have any affect on my UPS? In other words, will it be enough to even change the % load factor?
