Starting about three weeks ago when I attempt to put my system into standby
or hibernation the computer actually goes into the state but about two
minutes later it powers back up. Any ideas?

I've installed a new external HD 160 gigs but when its connected it
only shows 149 gigs available.

Here's the deal.  My computer is set up with 3 different accounts.

For several years I have had no problems with my Wireless mouse and
keyboard, with the receiver attached to a powered 7-port USB Hub.
However, recently I recently had to reinstall my PC, still with my
mouse and keyboard well functioning in the same setup.

I've been experiencing the problem for a long time. The symptoms are
the following:
- I plug in my USB2.0 HDD, everything works ok

Updated Display Driver, needs to be installed, which I have done - and still
have frequent/chronic Locking-Up.

my brother Tried to run cd disk on his computer but all that happens is a
tick,tick,ticking noise. cannot play any cd's at all on his lite-on cd/dvd
drive he has a pentuim 4 running xp home.
