The sound on my Laptop is not working I tried the Help and support. They tols me to reinstall the hardware I tries and the following error message Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Is there a historical/technical reason why the Hard Drive called "C" by default? Why is it not called "A" (since it is the primary mass storage device on many computer configurations)? What about the "B" drive? Just curious about this.....

I have an IBM ThinkPad with Intel 855PM chipset. I recently formatted my hard dosk and reinstalled Win XP SP2. After installation, I installed the Intel Chipset dirvers supplied by IBM (Ver 4.0.29). I then noticed an exclamation mark against the entry "ISAPNP

USB 2.0 devices have hit the wall big time. Somewhere along the line recently, Microsoft has released a bugfix (more likely a bug) that stops any USB 2.0 devices (or USB 1.1 devices on a USB 2.0 controller) from working correctly.

Hi Everyone, I'm wondering if anyone has seen a way of limiting the size of a USB storage device, ie up to a 1 Gig device, or a way of stopping USB attached external hard drives while still allowing USB key/drive/thumb drives etc to be used? Thanks.

I have recently installed a USB disk and want to refer to it as E: which is currently used by my CD drive. I have gone into disk manager and changed the drive letters so that my CD is now on F: leaving E: free and changed the new disc to E:
