I have an old Sony laptop with 128 mb of ram, and has installed XP on it.  
Currently on bootup it uses ~165 mb of ram just to run XP, in other words, it
immediately uses the hard disk for virtual memory and everything runs very

I set up a new external Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 HD, I loaded a few pics on
it to test it out, and the pics were lost.  I completely reformatted the EHD,

I think there was a recent update that required the computer to be rebooted,
after the update was installed, there was no prompt to reboot however. This
caused the CD-Roms to stop reading data from disks,  you would put the
cd/dvd in and XP would report the drive as 0/0 bytes ...
