XP Xperts, I have an HP Pavilion ze4100 laptop running Windows XP with 640 MB memory, and plenty of disk space. When the machine comes up, the CPU arbitrarily jumps up to 100% usage, and the mouse pointer disappears.

Present system uses Gigabyte GA7VT 600 mobo with built-in SATA VIA 8237 RAID controller. Currently the BIOS is not set up for RAID, and the VIA drivers are not installed in XPPro.

Hello and thanks in advance. I recently upgraded to WinXP Pro from Win2000. My SCSI controller worked fine with my scanner in win2k. But now, WinXP does not even see the Controller. I tried to manaully add it but it still cannot recognize it

I have a Dell dimension with 250GB SATA drive that failed to boot up into Windows. The machine still under warranty, Dell replaced hard drive and have left the old one with me for a week to try and recover the data.

Though the asus A7N8X deluxe mb states it has 6 usb 2.0 ports, they all seem to be running at 1.1 speed. I can tell this because the Maxtor One Touch II external drive will not exceed ~ 1mb/sec on any port. Maxtor states this means it is not on a 2.0 port.

I have an older Dell computer, Pentium 4 , 1.8 gHz. It has a CD burner and a Memorex 8X DVD burner; both internal. I seem to be having an issue with drive specifications. The CD burner is now only being seen as an 8X burner. How can I get it to be seen correctly.

I've heard that write speeds are not improved all that much by either sata or raid. Hoping from some improvement, I've just moved a Raid 0 (striped) partition from 2 maxtor drives to 2 new WD ones. ----------------------
