i am not sure when exactly this problem occured but i noticed the other day
when i went to burn a cd that media player said that no cd or dvd drive was
detected. I then realized it doesnt show up under explorer either. I checked
under device manager to see about the driver but ...

Random lockups led me to download and run a RAM test utility that showed
errors. I bought expensive new RAM chips and reran the RAM test for peace of
mind. I still have similar memory errors...only late in the "extended" tests
on the ERAND test in what look to me like high memory ...

My computer has 2 hard drivesC/D. I re-installed Windows XP on the "C" drive
leaving (as I thought) the "D" intact. The installation was successfull.
However the "D" drive is not recognised. How do I retrieve it?

I recently installed a firmware update for my DVD drive and Windows keeps
alerting me that new hardware has been installed.  When I click to install
the drivers, it says it can't find them.  It s a Sony DW-U50A.  The firmware
