I cannot connect my HP Scanner or HP Printer because I get a message that my
computer does not recognize the USB ports.  I am running Windows XP.  My
machine is clean and up to date and my device manager indicates that all
ports are working.  Any suggestions?

I have software that can be set to read from COM ports (1-4).
Serial infrared detectors are hard to find.  Do all USB detectors

I recently had a PSU failure and so i replaced it but from this point on the
hard disk failed to be detected during the post and became dead.

I cannot install any new USB devices on my PC
I am trying to install a D-link DUB-H4 USB 4-port controller on a Compaq
laptop with Windows XP SP2.  When I plug in the controller, it recognizes it
and tries to install the driver (Windows "Generic USB Hub") and fails with

I have the problem that my screen suddenly goes black for a few seconds.
This happens randomly, without any apparant connection to my activities. And
