Had a hard disk failure which dskchk fixed as best it could. Now I cant install net 2.0 & it will not say why. Anyone got any ideas? TIA

Reloaded my software weeks ago and now I'm trying to burn a DVD...all my software either crashes ro chugs forever with no effect. I recall a switch to set somewhere to allow a DVD to write but now I can't find it.

I have win XP installed on IDE as primary master and everything runs without any problem. when I add SATA it shows up ( during start up - black screen ) as primary master (?!)
