i've got an hp pavilion dv4000 notebook that the dvd/cdrw drive went "missing." it doesn't show in my computer or device manager (no unknown hardware, either). the bios is no help, because it doesn't show a list of devices detected at all. flashed the bios to latest

When I am using my computer running windows it will randomly restart with no BSOD or any type of warning. When it starts up again there are a bunch of corrupted files, generally whatever I was working with before it crashed. This is a custom built computer about 5 years old.

I have had an ink printer of EPSON. But it has a permanent problem that can not be recovered with the printer head. and it would cost as much as a whole new printer to subsitute with a new printer head. It is so disappointing that I bought it just three years ago....

Can someone suggest some (not very expensive) hand scanner? I need to do some searches in libraries and would like to be able to scan some materials and transfer to system for OCR/further processing. Thanks in advance.

I have a hard disk I pulled from one of my old machines, a 200gig WD, the old machine was running xp pro, and this disk was set up as dynamic. I have put this disk into an external case and no matter which machine I hook it up to I cannot access the contents of the drive.

I posted this message earlier, using the links provided by the 'Help and support' link from my OS, but the message obviously ended up in the wrong place and seems to have been simply deleted. Windows XP 64 will not let me install ANY hardware, at all.

I have a computer where the Primary boot partion is IDE and connected to the main board. I also have a PCI Sata card with two HD. I want to get rid of the IDE HD and use only the SATA hds.
