I can't play, rip or burn a music cd with any program... But it plays dvds
perfectly.. What's wrong? Please help..

Hey anyone I was having an unknown device found in my Device manager and
could not find the answer to remove the device or install a new driver.

I have a 40gb  Maxtor disk that has died. The message is 'error sensing
hard disk ', and I have done the basics, including
1.tested it on a second PC with a working disk to ensure cables and
power supply are good

The DVD/CD-ROM does not read any disk. (music, games,..)
This drive does not even apear on my PC.
It's like if I didn´t have a DVD/CD-ROM.

I run XPsp2. Recently I updated to intellipoint 5.2 for the mouse.
I am left handed and like to use the mouse on the left side of the keyboard.
This reverses the button assignment.
I'm using an intellipoint optical mouse which worked fine before.

I have a new Gateway computer and I have an error in device manager that I
can not get rid of.  It is in Unknown Device--Other Devices and it has a
yellow question mark there--error code 28.  I have uninstalled the device

Using Windows XP my monitor screen has started flickering recently.  Nothing
is new.   Display adapter is Intel Extreme Graphics 2.  Monitor is "GEM Plug
and Play".  It is an LCD.

My laptop wouldn't boot yesterday since the RAM was faulty, and now
I've bought some new RAM and it boots. Furthermore, it now passes
Memtest-86 with no errors.
However, another problem has revealed itself since after booting I am

My monitor has suddenly gone very dark. I have brightness and contrast set to
max but still it is so dark it is hard to see somethings. Nothing has been
changed on the computer and nothing added, anyone any suggestions?

the fan on my pc accerates to top speed (noisy) every few minutes and then
slows down again to a tolerable noise. the fan is at high speed more than it
is at slow speed. the dust and air vents have been cleaned out regularily and
the PC does not seem hot.  it always does this ...
