Got an odd USB problem here. Running an intel i965 based system with a
relatively new install of XP.

Can someone please help me find out why my DVD writer occasionally copies
CDs without problems but then crashes with the blue screen when I insert a
fresh blank disc to record again?
It is a Sony DVD RW DW U18A

My notebook is a Packard Bell Easynote S4810 with Windows XP Home Edition sp

I received this warning suddenly (out of the blue) when I connected a new
camera via its usb cable and the scanner and camera wizard came up along

My D: & E: drives plays CDs, movies, and other DVDs. But a few DVDs are not
recognized on my computer. I think its the formatting. Anybody knows how to
make these DVDs work on my computer?

I have a 80GB drive that I just reformatted and now it is showing up in
2 different drive letters as J: and as L: .  How do I fix this so it
only has a single drive letter; it is not a compressed drive.

I have 2 newish maxdata PCs with Toshiba combo drives (SD-R5472C)
I noticed first one wouldn't read CDs but is fine with DVDs so set up a
second identical one that I have recently bought - identical problem,
it will read/write DVDs but not CDs (reports no disk inserted).

My disk drives aren't working and this is the message I get from device
manager :"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver
may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)".   I uninstalled the drive and
restart but when Plug and Play detects it it still doesnt ...
