My D: & E: drives plays CDs, movies, and other DVDs. But a few DVDs are not recognized on my computer. I think its the formatting. Anybody knows how to make these DVDs work on my computer?

I have a 80GB drive that I just reformatted and now it is showing up in 2 different drive letters as J: and as L: . How do I fix this so it only has a single drive letter; it is not a compressed drive. Z.K.

I have 2 newish maxdata PCs with Toshiba combo drives (SD-R5472C) I noticed first one wouldn't read CDs but is fine with DVDs so set up a second identical one that I have recently bought - identical problem, it will read/write DVDs but not CDs (reports no disk inserted).

My disk drives aren't working and this is the message I get from device manager :"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)". I uninstalled the drive and restart but when Plug and Play detects it it still doesnt ...
