All of a sudden all of my USB ports have decided to malfunction. After
right clicking the USB symbol in Device Manager the device status box
indicates "No drivers are installed for this device." On further reading I am

How do I get a SATA drive to run as a master?  Why is it so much harder
then an IDE?

I have a laptop that is getting the SMART message on bootup declaring
an immediate failure is coming up and back up the drive.
I have Acronis 8.0 and would like to make an image of the drive, then
replace it with a new laptop drive.

I have a 3 yr old HP computer on which the internal dvd /cd writer
is playing up,they are rather slim and it does not look easy to fit
another non HP writer in it's place.

I have a laptop with XP Home SP2.  My sound is gone.  I can't find a service
for sound.  There's a sound applet in the control panel, but I still can't
get any sound.
The only sound I hear is a little system beep occasionally.

After writing data files to disc, they become read only. It seems the Disc
has become read only. How can I prevent this in future and to enable the

I have big problem with driver for Altera Flex FPP board PCI 9050. I
installed it but it isn't work properly (WinXP). When I tried to get
more info I discoverd  that there is IO range conflict with "processor
to agp controller". I was trying to change the range but button is not

What are your thoughts of having "only" my programs on my internal "C" SATA
drive and saving all my personal created information on an "external" SATA
drive?

I have an HP Pavillion desktop in which the hard drive has crashed. The
drive that came with the system is a SATA drive. I have restored my
files and reloaded the OS using an IDE drive that i had lying around.
