I recently tried to boot from a linux cd only to find that my computer does not boot from cd any more. I tried my genuine XP cd which should work but the result was the same: my pc boots into windows, obviously from the hard disk, no matter which device I set first to boot from in ...

When I try to restart or shut down my computer it stalls and I end up shutting off the computer manually. Any input on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

When I start my desktop, I get a RUN DLL box stating Error loading EGCOMSERVICE_1040.dll The specified module could not be found. I tried to go into the registry and deleted any data having anything to do with EGCOMSERVICE, but the box is still there. What can be done?

I have a Tablet PC, a desktop PC, and the Planktonic Voyager 510 headset. I selected this headset to avoid using a corded mic with the speech recognition software. Has anyone made something like this work? If so, please tell me how to do the same.

I can't get my CD-ROM drive to work. I put in the disc and the little disc icon pops up as if it is going to read the disc and then it tells me to insert disc. I open it and close it again, hoping it will do something, but it does not. Can someone help me with this?
