E-Machines are notorious for PSU failures which take down the mothernoard. I have one here where the PSU crashed and rendered the MoBo dead. Inside the PSU there was a capacitor that completely desoldered

A dual booting machine, both OSs are XP sp1 + fdisk update. It has a front-of-case hdd loading drive rack. Into this I load my Samsung HD300LD (300Gb, ata133) hdds (several) for offline storage. One fine day the ide wasn't in right and hdd connection quit in the middle of things.

I have an occassional problem during the boot sequence where I receive a bsod (I don't have the codes to hand). It's a very infrequent occurance so not of general concern but when it occurs it always does so at the point where my speakers 'pop' - I assume as

I have a WD My Book Essential connected via USB to my computer (Dell 4500s running XPHome). When I connect my wife's Ipod to another usb connection, it takes the My Book off line. I've already given them different drive letters, Z for My Book, T for Ipod.
