Why is it that some USB peripherals will only work if plugged directly into
the PC (as opposed to being plugged into a powered USB hub)?  I've had this
happen before were something didn't work - and Tech Support asked if the

I posted a while back re a problem with my (sole) internal HDD failing
to boot me into WinXPproSP2, which I used to be able to swing.
DL suggested I plop the drive into an external enclosure, put in a fresh

I need to wipe our sons computer drive and reinstall windows xp.  do you have

Hi, I have a hard drive that recently stopped working due to a fall
onto carpet from about 2 feet. It is an internal Seagate drive,

I have a problem with one office PC. For some unknown reason the pc
drops the scanner drivers on each shutdown or reboot.  If I unplug the
USB cable, and go into the device manager and delete the drivers
reboot, connect the scanner, pc finds the drivers and all is well
