Got a notebook with a sata drive in it that was improperly shutdown (ie lost
power entirely).  It now won't boot and is coming up with the infamous
"missing or corrupted ntoskrnl.exe".
The problem is that the notebook was delivered with recovery cd's but not

hi, am having problem with my sound devices as i reinstalled windows xp in my
laptop with a new cd i bought two days ago and since then no more sound
troubleshooting doesnt seem to work it also says there's no sound devices

I have a 4gb portable HD that I can access when booting from a DOS floppy.
I also have a 256mb pen drive that I made DOS-bootable.
If I boot from the USB pen drive, DOS doesn't see the 4gb USB portable
drive. It DOES see it if I boot from the floppy.

I've installed it, but every time I turn on computer and try to use lifecam,

hey - i think i actually found the answer.
there is a reset button on the bottom of the mouse.
and there is a reset button on the receiver that plugs into the USB.  click them both and vuualla! - it works again....
we'll see how long this lasts.

I've just installed a TV card in my computer, and even if there's no
problem installing either software or drivers, when i try to run the
application to configure the channels and actually watch TV, the

Actually this happens a lot. If theres nothing wrong with the drive. but its not showing up in your list under the pull down, usually it will show up if you go to "my computer" at the top of the pull down list.
Recommendation. Dont rely on letters as they can float depending on ...
