Do PATA/SATA drives have internal structures which make it possible to stop
them bij SW, or is the HDD controller on the MB responsible for stopping the
HDD?

I recently replaced my OEM 80 gig HDD with a Seagate 250 gig. It worls fine,
but my OS (Windows XP SP2) will only recognize about half of the capacity.
Any suggestions?

Is there a way to customize the autoplay options that popup when an
optical disc is inserted? I know there are options for which action to
take, which you can set on the optical drive properties' Autoplay tab.
However I don't see an option to inject a customized action, i.e.

Can someone advise me why 2GB flash drive must be in FAT32 format,
otherwise, it cannot support to this maximum size.  What about the maximum
size of FAT (FAT16)?

I am unable to use the dvd. It doesn't respond as the secondary master. There
is also a cd writer player (slave). The cd works.  What's thowing me is that
my system is listing two other DVD drives that I don't have (G & H) refering
to them as

the scanner lamp on my canon 660u will only turn off when i shut down the
computer. windows xp i can access the scanner time to off box but it does not
work.i have updated from 98 me to xp that is when the problem started.iloaded
drivers from canon and got everything else working ...

lost my cd-rom, when I try to re-install I get the following message:

my cd-rom has stopped working, tried to re-install and the computer finds it
