I am running XP Home SP2 on a laptop with 40GB HD.
Recently i deleted my linux partition to just use windows. After that

Would hot swapping a USB device (like a flash drive) without safely

Since a thunderstorm shutdown, my Epson 2400 Perfection scanner will not
work.  It shows message that the device is in use by another program but I
have no other program that uses the scanner.  I have deleted the scanner;
uninstalled the software and reloaded bot get the same ...

I'm looking to upgrade my CPU from a Pentium D 830 to a Pentium D 940.  If I
do that, will Windows require to be re-installed?  Assuming the motherboard
and chipsets are all compatible and don't need to be replaced.

I have a OEM XP Home system that I have used for several yrs. It came to me
with one 40 gig HDD with C: and D: (recovery partition).
I would like to further partition C: Will I need third party software to do
this without lossing any files? Can fdisk do it? How does one move files ...

I have an otherwise reliable recent model LG DVD drive that has
decided that is will not load autorun programs from a disc when loaded.
 Am I missing a system setting for this drive that would cause this

I have XP with SP2 etc.
I have connected my TV to my computer using my Radeon 9250 video card and
the ATI software that goes with it. (TV is clone image of screen)

Windows XP will not detect my CD/DVD burner, believing that it is only a
CD/DVD player. I have downloaded the latest drivers, and have even replaced
the burner with a newer model but it is still not recognised. Any help will

I will soon be upgrading a computer that was built in 2002.  It has an
ASUS motherboard, Series P4B533.  I have re-read the manual; it

Hi, I wonder if you could help me. I have just tried to add an external hard
drive via USB, and the 'Found New Hardware Balloon' with 'MTP Device'
appeared but would not go away. Even when I click on the cancel icon it would
reappear straight away.
