I was given an old armada laptop, P2 200 Mhz, with 32 megs on on-board
memory, win98se and it was working fine, although slowly.  So, i bought a 32
meg sodimm at a computer show last week for $5 (PC100) and put it in, and
viola! now I have 64 megs and all's well, this was a week ...

My DVD-RW is acting strange.  It can play CDs and DVDs and rip music from
albums onto my computer.  However, if I want to copy pictures onto a disk, or
make a DVD movie of my own, my computer does not recognize that I have a

Using XP.  When I try to install a USB 2.0 Flash Drive I get an error message
telling me that I need a hi-speed controller.  Can anyone tell me what this
means, how I do it?  (Before I updated from ME to XP, this flash drive
worked!)

I have 2 DVDRW's both NEC + same model.  In 'My Computer' under 'Removable
Storage devices' one of the DVDRW's shows the correct default name of
'DVD-RAM Drive' when empty and 'CD Drive' when it contains a blank DVD.
However, my other DVDRW, has mysteriously acquired the name 'SD ...

totally blown. He is looking at a desk top with 256MB ATI Radeon X1550

I have been given a 80GB drive, as above, and for a short while worked fine.
