I have this windows XP machine that is running a mercury analyzer. This analyzer has 2 pieces the instrument itself and an autosampler. The instrument is connected to the COM port and the autosampler is connected via USB.

I am having problems windows booting. Even through safe mode it will jam before actually getting through to windows. I have been told to boot through windows disk and press repair. Im struggling what to do from there.

I have XP Home SP2 set up on my M: internal HD. I need to repair it, or reinstall. I use the original CD -- when I get to the choice of which system to repair (I've got two different systems; two different Hard Drives). it offers me: C:\Windows or D:\Windows.
