As some know, I replaced a motherboard.
The temperature from the bios reports 50C.
I downloaded speed fan.  I am really not sure what it is reporting.

I just rebuilt my computer and installed a new HD.  As is typical, I moved my
old HD (Hitachi 120GB) over to the new machine and set it as slave.  Both HDs
are IDE.  However, after installing XP Home, this disk does not show up in
Windows Explorer.

I have a CD-RW with photos on it.  On one computer I can access all files.
On another I cannot- the drive shows no files on the disk.  I believe the
original disk was "created" in Win2k.

I believe that Mac OSX does not, and so I wonder about Windows.

On Windows XP, HP desktop, couple years old, every 10-20 days my mouse cursor
might freeze up overnight.  GE optical USB mouse.  Do I need a newer driver?  
Is there a way to unfreeze it without rebooting?  I close all applications at

I've got an old PC (HP Pavilion 8756C) with Windows XP Pro, installed on top
of Windows ME 7 years ago. It's been kept in great shape. I never had a

The hard drive utilities I know about are geared toward keeping sectors in
use rather than marking them bad.  But I have a drive right now with problem
sectors that are weak (MOST of the time still functional), and I would just
rather have them marked as bad so the drive performs ...

Thinking about replacing my X1900XT 256MB with a 8800GTS 640MB in a X2
3800+ rig. Will the performance gain be significant? Or will it just be
marginal and the ability to play DX10 games in Vista?
