Are most of the latest hardware 64-bit ready?  I am thinking of buying Vista
64-bit.  Or should I stay with 32-bit?

My laptop often stops responding and shuts down suddenly with one of the

I've been having this problem for a while. Most of the time when I turn off
my pc and then start the next morning, I get the message "176 the system has
been tampered with. The keyboard is locked. Turn off and then turn on your
computer."

Never had this problem before the last couple of Windows updates.  It cannot
read either DVD-ROM or DVD movies.  When I try to look at a disc in Windows
Explorer I get the following error message

Is there a advantage of using a SATA DVD/RW Drive instead of a IDE Drive?

I like to keep the c drive in the PLUS (+) position when I go to Explore,
not "exploded" (-) view.
How do I accomplish that?
