I bought a debranded HP computer with no software installed. Just a blank hard drive. The computer was originally built to be sold with Vista. I installed XP Home and updated to SP2 and the latest critical updates. I have been able to get most things working OK with XP

lets say i want to power more than 4 (HDDs, CD/DVD drives) in my computer but my power supply only has 4 power slots/plugs for them....is there anyway for me to hook up another PSU to use for them or would i have to get a new bigger/better PSU?

After system shutdown there is clicking which seems to come from the hard drive and flashing of lights sometimes for a minute or so and sometimes more persistently). When I disconnect the power source the problems stops.
