when I put a blank dvdrw in my dvd burner I no longer get the pop up screen
asking if I want to format it, and if I use windows explorer to view the
disc, I get
device is not accessible, nothing is wrong with the drive, I can boot to w2k

I have 2 HDD's and I have deleted the slave HD in disk manager.
Hardawre manager says the HD is working but Windows xp cannot find it.
There is no data to keep on the HD.

It's been working fine for months.  Now when I turn it on, it locks up
my PC.  After I disconnect it, only then is it recognized by my PC but
only for a second or two (The Open With menu appears and the icon
