I am having problems taking full advantage of my system's audio
capabilities.  I have a system with the following configurations,

I'm running XP Home Build 5.1.2600 on an Acer Aspire desktop. For some reason,
the CD/DVD player has stopped reading CD-ROMs, although it will still read
and play DVDs just fine. Can anyone suggest how I can fix this problem?
