Friends, I am using Windows XP with SP2. As I found 40GB HDD insufficient I bought one 80GB HDD to use it as an external drive with the help of USB External Casing.

I re-installed Windows XP Home - SP2 due to some other problems and now my internal slave drive is not visible in "My Computer". During Boot up checked the setup and the drive is recognized. It also shows in the Device Manager and says is working OK.

I just reinstalled a system for a friend with XP. I also installed a second hard drive and a second cd rom. All work fine but I'm curious as to why the second cd rom shows up as CD Ram drive (F:)

Whenever I notice computers are slowing down I schedule chkdsk /f to run on the next reboot. However after chkdsk has run the results do not display on the screen long enough to read them. Is there a way to make it stop at then end of chkdsk so that I can read the results and ...

I already made a post about how ipoint caused flickering in quicken but I started looking around and fount out that is not only quicken but several other programs. This problem goes way back. Why hasn't Microsoft fixed this yet? Are they ever gonna fix this? If you looking at ...

On system startup (either from hibernate or shut-down) my Princeton LCD 17M monitor reports "no signal." This happens intermittently, maybe once out every 5 to 10 startups. In all cases, I've been able to power down my Compaq Presario and restart without a repeat of the problem ...

At one point in time my XP Pro did have "other" software on it but I seemed to have a lot of problems. I now have a couple of generic optical drives. They are both suppose to be RW while one is CD and the other is DVD. I reformatted my HD and have been reinstalling not quite ...

A couple of weeks ago, I lost both usb's; the "support" told me to delete (under Device manager) and restart the computer .. that worked. However, since then, one of my "devices" is no longer recognized by Windows. All others work ... any ideas?

I'm adding a new 2nd hard drive for a friend. The exisiting hard drive is a Maxtor Diamond 10 (200gb) and it's jumper is set to Cable Select (this is & will stay as Master.) The new drive will be the slave.
