A Western Digital 250 GB USB External Drive is connected to a Windows XP SP2 computer. There is 227 GB of unused space on the drive, yet when I try to copy and paste a 37 GB Vware images files to the drive, I get an error message Titled "Error Copying File or Folder" that says

OK, this is an odd one. My nephew's computer has mysteriously deformatted" itself three times in the past month. He will be using it without problem, then shutdown for the night and the next day he turns the machine on to a hard drive with nothing on it.

I have just installed a new 250gb hard drive to use as main program disk. I intend to keep original 80gb disk for data, photos etc. How can I transfer all program files to new disk including o/s. The original disk is IDE and the new SATA.

I recently installed a Western Digital 1TB HD on my computer. My Bios sees the 1TB HD for what it is yet Windows sees it as a CD Rom. Western Digital isn't much help when it comes to fixing this problem. I have SP2 installed with my XP Home.

The DVD-ROM that was preinstalled on my laptop is no longer recognized by the computer. I have run the troubleshooter, have uninstalled the DVD-ROM and tried to reinstall it. The computer says "found new hardware" and locates the correct dvd-rom but is unable to install it ...

I just got a Canon PowerShot A570 IS digital camera. According to Canon's instructions it's a USB PTP device, so the drivers are already present in XP. However when I plug it in it doesn't appear in Scanners and Cameras. It does show up in Device Manager, as a Digital Still Camera ...
