USB Mass Storage Devices are allocated a drive letter OK
But, when try to access the device I get:
'This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on your computer......'

My 500GB WD MyBook finally keeled over. I restarted my computer yesterday

A Western Digital 250 GB USB External Drive is connected to a Windows
XP SP2 computer.  There is 227 GB of unused space on the drive, yet
when I try to copy and paste a 37 GB Vware images files to the drive,

OK, this is an odd one.
My nephew's computer has mysteriously deformatted" itself three times in the
past month. He will be using it without problem, then shutdown for the night
and the next day he turns the machine on to a hard drive with nothing on it.

I have just installed a new 250gb hard drive to use as main program disk. I
intend to keep original 80gb disk for data, photos etc. How can I transfer
all program files to new disk including o/s. The original disk is IDE and the
new SATA.

Will it be much of a difference if I stayed with XP with a new DX 10 video
card; or should I upgrade to Vista?  I have a P4 630 with HT 3.0 MHz CPU on
an Asus P5GD2-X Motherboard with 4GB of DDR2-PC800 memory.

I recently installed a Western Digital 1TB HD on my computer. My Bios sees
the 1TB HD for what it is yet Windows sees it as a CD Rom. Western Digital
isn't much help when it comes to fixing this problem. I have SP2 installed
with my XP Home.

The DVD-ROM that was preinstalled on my laptop is no longer recognized by the
computer.  I have run the troubleshooter, have uninstalled the DVD-ROM and
tried to reinstall it.  The computer says "found new hardware" and locates
the correct dvd-rom  but is unable to install it ...

I a motherboard (Asus) with a built-in video board. I need to have 2
monitors, so I bought another video board and plugged it in.
Problem is, when the new video board is on, the built-in disappears
from windows! It's still active on the BIOS but I can't find it

i unplug the ram and hard drive out of the computer and theres no
beeping going on. What can cause that?

I just got a Canon PowerShot A570 IS digital camera.  According to Canon's
instructions it's a USB PTP device, so the drivers are already present in XP.
However when I plug it in it doesn't appear in Scanners and Cameras.
It does show up in Device Manager, as a Digital Still Camera ...
