After I changed my virtual machine, my old virtual disk which Windows XP had been installed on, became a SCSI one, instead of IDE. Now OS showing BSOD during boot, saying "inaccessible boot partition". Is there some way to make it work without having it re-installed?

I got me a Block Box gizmo that temporarily converts either an ATA (IDE) or a SATA drive to a USB drive. The adapter let me take a hard drive and temporarily hook it up like a flash drive to a computer.
