After I upgraded to XP my LG CD-RW CED 8080B and LITEON DVD-ROM LTD163 stopped working properly. The DVD-ROM does not work at all. The CD-RW works if I put the cd in before XP loads up completely. I upgraded from Me.

In Windows XP you can set the option /onecpu in the boot.ini file, to force Windows to run on one cpu when running on a multicore system. Can anybody give me link to a page or document where I can get some information about what exactly happens when booting with this option?

Have been given a Philips Iqon PC and told if I can fix it I can keep it. It has an ECS m/b and Celeron D 3.06 CPU. Boots past the POST but shuts down before Windows starts. Watching the hardware monitor in the BIOS CPU temp creeps up till it reaches the 85C

I have two DVD drives, a Piooeer Read only, and a Lite-on + or - RW. Neither of them recognizes DVDs, either movies, or homemade DVDs or blanks. They both read CDs without any problem. I have WXP SP2, and have installed Power DVD 8, and tried to see the DVDs

Currently I have an Intel 4 2.40 GHz processor. Recently I purchased a simulation whose recommended specs state that the processor should be "Pentium IV 3.0Ghz ". Is there a way of changing my processor without too much hassle?
