Advent laptop with XP MCE on it.
Bought a USB mini mouse with retractable cable.  Works OK until PC is
resuming from Standby.
Left click brings PC out of Standby but then the mouse doesn't work at all,

I don't know what happened, but I noticed that the Safely Remove Icon is no
longer on my Task Bar.
I have gone into the RightClick - Start - Properties - Taskbar - Customize.
It does appear there, but selecting "Always Show" or "Restore Defaults" does
