I have had bad luck with power supplies, the
first a 350W unit must have been undersized
and it failed taking the HDD control board

Yesterday, my wife's 5 year-old HP desktop began to re-boot at random
intervals. Sometimes the re-boot occurred after loading the desktop,
other times when attempting to run an application from the desktop,

My pc does not boot from a CD even though I have gone into the BIOS setup and
made the appropriate changes (CD #1, HD #2) and saved them.
I start the pc with the cd in the drive, the drive then makes a whirring
sound, but then the Windows XP screen appears.

My cd drive doesn't work. I tried right clicking on D: drive and clicking
open. Deleting hardware from device manager. Nothing works. Does this mean I
have a bad cd drive? .

a copy of XP on it that will not register so I have a legiminate copy of 98SE
to put on it.  How do I go about this?  When inserting the disk it doesnt ask

My pc has a Asus K8V SE Deluxe Motherboard with an AGP slot. I currently
have a Nvidia Geforce FX5200 graphics card. I recently upgraded ram to 2Gb

I  recently switched from a Lite-On PATA DVD Burner to a Lite-On SATA DVD
