When i click Safely Remove Hardware icon, I get following message:
The device 'Generic volume' cannot be stopped right now. try stopping the
device later.
How can i remove this drive?

I have a 250 gb hd (pata ide) but xp only recognizes 232 gb, where is the
other 18 gb?

recently installed a sata rw dvd drive (liteon DH16W1S). We have windows
xp home edition sp3. It is recognized in the device manager but incd isn't
listing it.
Is there a different format program we need?
