What are the required firewall ports for Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger?
Is it possible to use firewall to block the usage of MSN Messenger, but keep Windows Messenger working?

hi i have just purchased a new windows xp..i can log into windows explorer but when i try and log into messenger it won't sign me in,i appear off-line...many thanxs in advance ..andrew

I recently upgraded from Windows Messenger 4.7 to 5.0.  When I used 4.7, it would automatically sign in during boot up. With Messenger 5.0, I have to manually click on sign in after the computer is booted. Is there some way to automate the sign in process in 5.0?  Thanks.

About 75% of the time when I open Outlook express, it
hangs up.  When I try to close it I can't.  About a
minute later I get the following message box:

I have Windows Messenger 5.0.
How can I get it to start automatically as soon as I go on-line.  At present I seem to have to manually start Messenger each time.

I have done everything possible to keep Mindows Messenger from starting and running on my computer short of deleting it, but it still does. I have ticked/unticked all I can find, but the fellah just keeps on ticking.
Can anyone tell if there is something I have not done ??
