What are the required firewall ports for Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger? Is it possible to use firewall to block the usage of MSN Messenger, but keep Windows Messenger working? Thanks a lot. Po-Shan.

hi i have just purchased a new windows xp..i can log into windows explorer but when i try and log into messenger it won't sign me in,i appear off-line...many thanxs in advance ..andrew

I'm using MSN Messenger 6.1 Since a few days the icons for the contacts are all green, even those of the off line ones. Tried to uninstall and reinstall Messenger, no success.

I recently upgraded from Windows Messenger 4.7 to 5.0. When I used 4.7, it would automatically sign in during boot up. With Messenger 5.0, I have to manually click on sign in after the computer is booted. Is there some way to automate the sign in process in 5.0? Thanks. --Tim
