This may be a dupe. I have WinXP PRO and have no use for
messenger service. I have it disabled in the
msconfig\startup. When I look in the task manager,
process tab I see it still running. Can I remove it

I have XP Home and I have always kept Messenger up to date.  I discover I
have 4.7 and 6.1 on my PC.  At Start Up (even if one is deactivated) they
compete (they both show in active processes).

Hello I'm having this awful problem with the Msn Messenger
6.1 I installed it but each time I try to sign in I don't
know it won't let me sign in It gives me an error message
that says somethings wrong with my Internet
