I am new to XP.  Do i need windows messenger?
Is it the same as MSN messenger
When I try to exit from the system tray, it tells me that other applications are using it, but I don't have anything else running

preinstalled.  My father just got a new computer and

fidn the standard set of emoticons? what file extension they have?

I have ticked the box: I use a proxy server.
Type: HTTP Proxy
Server: I enter the correct address & port:
The User ID: & password: boxs are greyed out.

I have removed Messenger 4.6 from my computer.
But it is re?nstalling itself after I have used MSN Messenger 6.1 .
Does anyone perhaps know how I can stop this?

friend can hear me now. I can't hear him so we are

Ok, I primarily use Msn 6.1, and very rarely use the windows messenger.
Anyway, under options of windows messenger, I chose for it not to run in the background, and I chose for it not to run @ start-up, and for it not to auto-sign in once a internet connection is established.  ...

I run XP Pro. Does anyone know a way of removing the exit
option when you right click the messenger icon in the
systray area.
