How do I shutdown messenger service in windows XP. I keep
getting pop-up windows on my PC.

when i just sign in, MSN messenger freezes and the "CPU
usage history" in task manager goes to 100% until i end
messenger process... there is no use of reinstalling
messenger the same prob goes and goes again.....

I have a new Dell and the sound works great but even after the test, which says everything is fine, I have no voice. It says my microphone is fine but it doens't work with messenger,the only thing I would use it for, and I don't know how to fix the problem. Can someone please ...

I can't close Windows Messenger in the system tray.
Of course, I have checked that there is no application running and using
Messenger (Outlook Express, Outlook Express, MSM Explorer). Only Internet
Explorer is running.

the old Windows Messenger keeps signing me in
automatically every time I connect to the internet.

Both audio and text communication work, just the video

I'm trying to make it so I don't receive Email alerts -
so I have unchecked "Display alerts when email is
received" in messengers preferences - and I'm still
receiving a pop up alert when a new email is received.

I am having a problem during my audio conversations.  I
can hear the other person fine, they can me, but complain

account and then "change my .net passport" it tells me what my passport is.

I recently went ahead and upgraded MSN Messenger even
though I already had 6.1.  I had been getting a message
that there was a new release.  Didn't make sense but I
wanted to get rid of the recurrring message.  Since then,

Windows messanger tells me to verify my email address by
reading an email message.  The necessary email message is
not there.  How do I get around this?
