I installed the 5.o version but now I seem to have lost the email link that lets me check my email straight from messenger??

Greetings all.
I have had Windows Messenger since January & have never gotten the voice or webcam to work properly.
1.  I can hear others when they speak, but they cannot hear me.  
2.  I am able to send files with no problem.

When I start outlook express I keep getting a dialogue box insisting that I
must update windows messenger. I do not use messenger - so how do i stop
this irritating meg from popping up please guys?

I am using Office XP Professional and running Windows XP Professional.  I
currently have Messenger 4.7 installed.  I was going to update to MSN
Messenger 6.1 but after reading about the problems everyone has been having,
I am wondering if I should leave 4.7 installed or update to 5 ...
