I am sick and tired of obscene pop-ups. I have tried to delete the messenger service, I have installed Norton firewall and NOTHING is stopping these irritating messages popping up every time I log on.  Why is there a messenger service with Windows XP? I can see no use for it ...

After installing a westell modem "Ethernet" Windows messenger would
not work. I went back to "launchmodem" and enabled remote access and
it worked, but I noticed it said after 20 min. inactivity or reboot
remote access would be disabled. Does remote access need to be enabled

However It Returns On Every Boot Up
Rechecked It After New Boot And It Is Still Disabled However The "Green Man" Icon Persists

I have asked this question a few times in here without response.
Perhaps no one knows the answer to my problem.
Basically when I click on the video and audio to chat with my

I'm in the UK and I used to chat on chat.msn.co.uk but MSN have stopped this
service. Since then I've been unable to find a good replacement for this -
I've tried a few but they've been nowhere near as good.
