MSN Messenger seems to have a very irregular behaviour
under restrictive firewalls or error-prone
networks/environments, whereas other instant messaging
protocols seem to be more stable on the same conditions.

Hi. I've just installed Windows Messenger 5.0 to a WinXP SP1 computer.
It had MSN Messenger 6.0 installed previously, but I have deinstalled
it and reinstalled WinMsgr 5.0.
The problem is still that WinMsgr 5.0 won't start. When I click it in

When I re-installed Windows Messenger it took all the contacts from MSN
Messenger (OK?) but now I don't have the option of getting contacts from my

I re-installed Windows Messenger and all my contacts have now gone from MSN
Messenger.  I now have to add each one by email address as it does not give
me the option of installing from my address book.  Any way to re-enable that

I AM HAVING A GREAT DEAL OF PROBLEMS GETTING NET PASSPORT
TO VERIFY MY E-MAIL ADDRESS.  AND ALSO I KEEP GETTING AN

yeah 4 some reason i cant get into my messanger, its
telling me that my password is not correct or the username
is incorrect. its tellin me to reset my password but thats

I am using dsl with linksys dsl router.  I am not able to
login on msn messenger, after many tries I may get lucky
and it logs in.  But majority of the time, it will try to
login, then I get a message
