Our problem existed before and since Sp.2. The voice connection disconnects although we can still type instant messages and file transfer continues through the period of disconnection. When the disconnection occurs we can immediately remake the connection.

I installed SP2 on my machine, (XP home edition), and now windows messenger no longer checks my hotmail account for new email. I can't find an option for that function. Has the capability been removed?

The Windows Messenger pages on Microsoft say that the latest version of Windows Messenger is 4.7. How do I have Version 5.0.0.486? It specifically says Windows Messenger, not NetMessenger, which I don't need.
