I am running Windows XP Pro and the windows messenger 4.7
works ok but it won't let me run Messenger 6.2 says
something about cannot connect because of proxy something
or other.  Why can I not run this but can run 4.7?

I'm new to all this messenger stuff, can someone explain the differences
between the two?
i'm basically interested in chatting with friends, which version is best?

I installed MSN Messenger, then decided I did not want it
and uninstalled it. But now, Windows Messenger no longer
loads and automatically signs on when I boot up as it did
before.

i have the old msn which works perfectly, but i recently
installed the new msn 6.2 and everytime i sign up, the
troubleshoot stops me and says that i dont have internet
connectivity, which is not rite because the internet

from Outlook Express to MS Outlook?

Just finished installing SP2 in WinXP and Messenger has re-appeared.
(I had got rid of it a year ago)
Zone alarm records an attempt to connect to  "crl.verisign.com"  at boot up.
Is this part of Messenger ?

when trying to connect through remote assistant it returns and error of :
could not connect because remote host name could not be resolved.

Any opssiblilty to add more then 150 contacts in Winodws Messenger 5.0 or 5.1

Hi, I accidentally deleted the file  DpvSetup.exe somehow
from my files.  I went to my recycle bin, and restored
all files, but that did not work.  I got the error  
0x80150175 on my MSN Messenger, when I tried the Wizard

Hello group, I need to obtain a telephone number which
was given to me whilst chatting on messenger.
I seem to remember that I once inadvertantly found a text
file which contained all my recent conversations held on

I'm starting messenger 6.2 and it always starts with my hotmailaccount, but
that's not what I want. I want to type any of my hotmailaccounts and don't
want to start up automatically 6.2. I tried to look how to solve it with the
Helpfile, but that seems not to be possible. Once ...

my messenger always opens without my password i did

nothing]

How can I tell if my Windows Messenger 5.0 is correctly and fully installed?  
My Windows Messengeris not at all listed in the Add/Remove Programs & I want
it back!
