Since I don't need Messenger, I have uninstalled it. However, I still have
several ports opened in LISTEN state for the process msmsgs.exe, which runs
at startup. I don't want this process to run which which will close the
associated ports.

I have a problem with the audio on a windows xp machuine, when you click
audio in windows messenger it shows up without having a sound card. In
windows device manager it shows up fine and works normaly trough windows. At

After signing in I always get a message of not signed
into all services. I then am requested to enter my sign
in name for a communication service and when I finish

I'm currently running Version 6.2 (6.2.0137) on Windows
XP SP2 and Messenger will never show me as being away.
I've set it to show me away at 3 minutes but it never

After a Microsoft update, I started receiving a little
annoying pop-up box telling me to verify my e-mail
address. The directions were to click on an e-mail from:

I use Windows Messenger for video conversations.
I use Win XP SP2 Firewall, and EZ Firewall.
Whenever they (the firewalls) are active, the video does
not work. When I turn them off, then the video works.

For those people that continue to focus on the C2Media/Lop sponsor, may I
suggest at least running the install program to see the changes for
yourselves, and also to see that Patchou is listening to the 6,000,000+

Could anyone help when I start up MSN messenger it automaticly tries to sign
in I wouldn't mind but it's not even my e-mail address it tries to sign in to
and because the password hasn't been entered it says it can't sign in could
any one help in stopping this problem many thanks ...

I use MSN Messenger 6.2.0137
But whenever I start it, Windows Messenger 5.0 is also started but in the
background? In the tray there is only the MSN Messenger icon and not the
Windows Messenger icon.

This is twice now. I've have found Win Messenger Just hanging out listening
on the net when iI hadn't. Started it. I thought this is weird.. I didn't.

I am trying to open and use windows messenger (I am new to this application).
The system advises a newer version is available...I must install this to
continue...Y or N. Selecting Y another window advises me to close MS
applications I do not have open (powerpoint etc.) I cant ...

I have the following configuration
1. Live Communtication Server 2003
2. Windows XP with Windows Messenger 5 (outside a domain)

I am running XP Pro with SP2.  Messenger 6.2 starts and logs on then a few
seconds later a window pops up with the info 'MSN Messenger has encountered a
problem and needs to close'. When I click to see the error report it states
'AppName: msnmsgr.exe    AppVer: 6.2.0.137   ...

reading through here, i see that i'm not the only person having problems with
messenger not sending or receiving messeges. when is this problem REALLY
going to be fixed? cuz i see someone said "soon" on the 10th.
