Is anyone ever gonna figure out why messanger keeps giving this message? If
there is a way to fix it I would really like to know, my messanger worked
fine until I tried to fix my windows update. Now my update workd fine and my
messanger is messed up!

I have had MSN messenger for years. I have not changed
anything on my computer. I have a DSL modem and have had
no trouble connecting to the internet. However, for the
past 2 days I have received the following error message

The little icons on the left hand of the MSN Messenger have disappeared.

I am running XP Pro and have Service Pack 2 installed.
I am behind a Linksys router and have the Windows XP firewall enabled with
an exception for Windows Messenger and have enabled UPnP.
I can exchange messages OK, voice works but no video.

just wondering if you had come up wiv any ideas jonathan,
iv wiped an trace of messenger and anythin relatin 2 it, and reinstalled
just messenger 7.0.4** and still, the slow taskbar thing *still* arises
grrr!!

I've installed Windows Messenger 5.1 and it loads and
starts when XP starts, but there is no ICON in the system
tray.  Is this a known bug or is there a work-around?
