I'm having a problem with Outlook Express 6 in Windows XP SP2.  Outlook
Express apparently interfaces with Windows Messenger, not MSN Messenger
as in previous Windows versions, so unless I have Windows Messenger
running, I don't see the online/offline status of people in my Address

    I used to be able to receive alerts when I got email in my Hotmail
account via Windows Messenger.  After installing SP2 and the update for
Windows Messenger, I can no longer receive these alerts.  Furthermore, when I
click on the "My Email Inbox" thingy, it brings up Outlook ...

i have windowsxp and sp2. i just removed windows messenger 5.1 per someones
instructions on this board. now i can't get windows messenger 4.7 back can
someone tell me what i'm doing wrong.i went to windows componants and put the

Hi, I have MSN Msgr 6.2 and Windows Msgr 5.1 and have about 5 out of 15
contacts who never appear online, even though they are online.  The e-mail
addresses are definitely correct, they are not blocked and have not blocked
me, and I have tried deleting then adding them again.

Other than just loading OE to post this message, I had no applications when
I checked my task manager.  No matter what I do, I cannot shut it off.
What's the secret.  Someone sent me a small script which I run, but it's not

I have spent 2 hours looking through the hotmail web page

Sister in law had many many Spyware, but has removed using the new Microsoft
program, she cannot get MSN Messenger to connect, she downloaded the
mandatory version, it will come up on the screen but will not connect to
allow a connection with another party.
