Messenger has dissappered and I cannot reinstall pc only 2 weeks old home build genuine xp pro oem disk used. Any suggestions I use messenger a lot. I have a router with a firewall but it was working through that.

I have downloaded the da-- thing and it shows in my toolbar on start up but will not open . I am running xp. does anyone know how to fix this thing so I can use it??

I want to help a friend via remote desktop. I am suspecting they have a virus on their computer. Is my computer vulnerable to any viruses that may exist on their computer? Can a virus transfer via a Remote Desktop connection? What, if anything should I be aware of?

I am using Windows Messenger 4.7.3001, and just upgraded 3 days ago to SP2. Now, instead of Windows Messenger starting when Windows does, it just sits there untin I start it myself or run Outlook Express, which seems to need to have it running. Any guesses?? Thank you!!

Whenever I endeavour to log on to the messenger service/application, a message appears stating <Error Code 81000306>. Any ideas what is up? (I use XPPRO SP2 and MSN Messenger v7.0 Beta). --------------------------

I'm using Norton Internet Security with MSN 7 but when I click on the mail button to read any mail, it does not connect to Hotmail. However, when I disable NIS it connects to Hotmail fine. Now for the strange part.....

i thought i downloaded the security update for messener 6.2, instead i got messenger 5.0 downloaded, cept i dont want it, i cant delete 5.0, corrupted files, and its listed as my messenger service in programs, when i open messenger, 6.2 opens, found the correct update for 6.2 ...

I reinstalled windows xp pro today, that was a sucess. I setup my windows messenger and of course had to do the update thing. My Messenger signs in ok and all looks normal, i can see people sign in , but when i click on the name to talk to them it says this message could not

I installed messenger.msi to upgrade my Windows Messenger 4.7.3001 to 5.1. Installation appears to be successful and the program works, except that Help-About still shows version as 4.7.3001 rather than 5.1 something. Is this normal? I rebooted and ran the msi file again and it ...
