I downloaded and installed messenger 8.0 today, but when I log in, all of my contacts are shown as being offline, and none of my contacts seems to be able to see me online. I've tried to uninstall 8.0 and reinstall 7.5 but I am getting the same problem now even with 7.5. Please ...

i try to sign in but when i do it says unable to sign in at this time it says try troubleshoot so i do and hit repair and it doesnt do anything. it says code 80048820 what can i do to fix this problem
