Everytime Windows Messenger runs, it takes up 100% of my CPU., and my
computer goes slow.
I'm using a Windows XP Proffesional computer, and an AOL Net Gear (W111T) DSL.

This is the first time out with WM using a Logtech webcam. I was chatting
with my sister, and decided to see if I could send her a video as I sat here
typing. She has no camera. Suddenly, I got an abort msg. WM disappeared from

I am a Windows XP SP2 user, and I downgraded from WM 4.7.3 back to 4.7.2009
(which supported the Addins feature). Would it still be possible to install
the MSN Add-in even though they've been discontinued?

When I start up XP, the welcome screen prompts me to pick one of two User
Accounts that exist on my laptop. Beneath one of the two users, there is a
link that says "____ new mail messages", and when I run my mouse over that
link, a dialog box pops up that lists my Hotmail address ...

Communication Server 2003 and have a few Vista workstations installed.  
Windows Messenger 5.1 is not very stable on these machines...

When I open Windows Media Center I get a message "Messenger Failure" media
center cannot find windows messenger.  It is installed, version 8 and does
work from the desktop. Also in messenger when i get an invitation to see
someones videocam i get a picture but garbled sound only

is there anyway to make MSN 8.0 opens my email via Firefox, when i

it tells me in audio/video/tunning wizard ,that another program is using the
camera, dont know what program so therefor in cant have a video conference,

i've configured WM5 with my SIP account (tools, options, accounts, sip ..)
and at the beginning it was always asking me for the login and password
informations (sign-in name, user name, password) .

I have a windows messaging client that connects to aLive communications
server using SIP. It conencts fine. I would like to know how windows
messenger finds out the location (IP address) of the LCS just with my
sign-in name. I have not configured the name of the server in
