Well;
i have been telling the story of my lost MM1.
I uninstalled windows sp1 and turned my camcorder on and
it is back.

About two weeks ago i downloaded the windows movie maker
2 software hoping it would make my works with video
editing would be easy. But there was a small problem with
the software i can't put my finger on it. Every single

I have been running MM@ for while. Coincident with a XP
Auto Update, when I run it now, there are NO transitions
any more. There are only 2 Video effects too. Where are
the rest?

Everything works fine with Moviemaker2
I have made a movi which runs very good on my pc
I gave it to my brother (he also owns a Pc with XP)
but he has no video picture only sound with this movie.

I went to the mocrosoft site and EVENTUALY downloaded
moviemaker, (twice) (dont ask)
The second downmload seemed ok but when I double clicked
on the icon to install it started did a fair bit then

I have a Canon ZR30mc mini DVD camera and it worked with
pinnacle studio 8 with windows 98se.  I have a new
computer with lots of speed and space and Win Xp Prof.  
It does not capture in movie maker or Pinnacle studio 8.

Is there anyway of saving the file to something other
than .WMV? I would like to be able to save as MPEG, with
a bitrate higher than 2.1MB/ps - I don't like being
restricted like that! :(

message:  "A recordable CD drive was not detected.  Would you like to save

I saved my project (originally captured as DV-AVI from DV) into my DV.
Sometimes the volumen of the music (joined from cd by W.M:Player 9) almost
disappeare and then returne as before, at beginning of some clip (without
fade between clips).

I own a Panasonic Camcorder model NVDS15, a DELL Inspiron
8500, WINXP SP1, WMM2. The PC came with the 1394. When I
connect my Camcorder to my PC and try to capture from the
camcorder, I keep getting the error that a Capture device
