Why does it take 29,000,000 minutes to save a movie file. I have a current computer and my movie length is 30 seconds and is cut from a 31 minute movie. Can anyone help me?

Just like a few others, I'm having a problem of saving or converting the WMV file to other formats do that I can play it on my VCD(*.dat) or maybe DVD. Do you have any software to conver this?
